On Monday, August 22, my 87 year old mother, Dorothy Wilson, of Massapequa, NY, was legally kidnapped from her home of 60 years by her court appointed guardian, Mary Giordano, of Franchina and Giordano in Garden City, NY, effectively isolating her from all of her family, friends, neighbors, and healthcare providers. Judge Joel Asarch of Nassau County Supreme Court signed this order on August 19, 2011, DESPITE the fact that I, her daughter, am able and willing to care for her in my home, which has even been deemed "safe" for her by the court. Mom told everyone, her guardian, attorney, the judge! that she wanted to live with me. She stated emphatically that she did not want to live in a nursing home. I went to the expense of converting a bathroom for my mother to make it handicapped accessible with all ADA approved fixtures. If anyone can help, please contact me at ally12@att.net.
